Nokia, Symbian & Sports Tracker

Interesting announcements from Nokia today! We just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Sports Tracker will continue to support Nokia & Symbian in the future as well. So existing and future Nokia Sports Trackers need not worry :)

However to broaden the Sports Tracker community we are also launching on new platforms already this spring …more news coming soon… ;)

You’ll find certainly quite a lot of particulars like that to take into consideration. That may be a terrific point to bring up. I supply the ideas above as normal inspiration nonetheless clearly you’ll find questions like the 1 you deliver up where a very powerful thing shall be working in sincere excellent faith. I don?t know if very best practices have emerged round issues like that, even so I’m certain that your job is clearly recognized as a fair game. Each girls and boys actually feel the affect of only a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

What you published made a great deal of sense. However, think on this, what if you added a little information? I ain’t suggesting your content is not good., but suppose you added something that grabbed people’s attention? I mean Nokia, Symbian & Sports Tracker | Sports Tracker is a little plain. You might glance at Yahoo’s home page and note how they create post headlines to grab viewers interested. You might add a video or a related pic or two to grab people excited about everything’ve got to say. In my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier.

Just wish to say your article is as surprising. The clarity in your publish is simply spectacular and i could assume you’re an expert in this subject. Fine together with your permission let me to grab your RSS feed to stay updated with imminent post. Thank you 1,000,000 and please carry on the gratifying work.

I have Sports Tracker on my Nokia C7. It works really fine. But now I couldn’t starts it. After clicking the ST icon the screen going to be darker and later (just 2-3 secs) back to the menu. I have tried the soft reset (*#7780#) but then it doesn’t work as well. Any idea?

Thanks! Support of Symbian devices and hopefully Nokia WP devices is appreciated!

Cómo lo has configurado ?
      Saludos.

Like others ask, can you integrate music with sports-tracker? And as we can download routes, is there any way that the program recognize them and help us following the track?

  10. vanetza

La aplicación esta genial, no se si la puedo encontrar en castellano y como ha dicho alguien, si se pudiera sintonizar la radio, o musica, seria perfecto!!

    Hi,

I started using this app 3 months ago. I only have had good surprises with it since then. I could not consider buying a phone not supporting it anymore!

Keep on the good work guys!

I have the same problem with my Nokia E5(not sure about the older version), anybody else agree? Switched to Sports Tracker due to recent lack of support for the Symbian Endomondo. So far so good. I have to reboot the phone then start the app to get a fix!

Could you please add new action types: Snowkite (leijahiihto), ATV (mönkijällä ajelu), Snowmobiling and snowwork(lumityöt). Now I can change them to other1, other2 and other3. But would like to have describing icon also when sharing actions in facebook etc.

    Thanks for a great app!

  18. Kevin

Why I can not download the app in China? When I click the “download from the OVI store” on http://www.sports-tracker.com, it always says “Sorry, this item is not available for your country. Browse more great content in the “Related” section below.”. Do that mean this application is still not available in China’s OVI Store?

    1. Jussi Solja

Sports Tracker is unfortunately not available in the Chinese Ovi Store :( You can try and look for the “unofficial” installation package via Google…

Onko sivusto suljettu?

  20. Charles

Switched to a Windows Phone 7 recently, but still use my N8 just for sports-tracker. Don’t want to give up the heart rate monitor and honestly, Sports Tracker is much better then the WP7 options on the market. Keep up the good work and hope you add WP7 to your supported OS’s.

    1. sini p

Try Edmondo sport tracker on your WM7

      1. jurrysmurry

Endomondo it is. Is multiplatform, better as social app, but Nokia Sports Tracker is far more accurate, more mobile functions and better graphic design. I now use both, hoping Nokia will go multiplatform and social soon.

      2. John Robson

Edmondo isn’t a patch on sports tracker, I now have a Samsung android phone but use my e71 as a cycle computer with sports tracker.

    2. Jussi Solja

WP7 is something we will definitely look at adding as a platform. Can’t promise anything yet though :)

  21. Hilario

¿Hay una versión en español? Gracias

    1. josé

      hola.
Me encantaría que hicierais la versión en español.
      Hay alguna previsión de realizarla.
      Gracias.

      1. dani

En facebook dijeron que dentro de poco saldría la versión en español, pero cuándoooo???

  22. Roman Simik

Fantastic sport software, very easy for use.
Nice graphic and data transfer to web is very fast.
    With Nokia E52 working for 100 %.

  23. Aki

I switched to Android and have tested all available free and paid GPS tracking applications, which all are inferior in features and usability compared to Sports Tracker. I miss both the Sports Tracker application and the web site for viewing workouts. I am looking forward to get Sports Tracker to my Android phone!

  24. Mark Sharkie Richards

Sports Tracker is the best. Keep up the good work.

  25. Fabio Rebelato

    Autopause for 6 and 7Km/h

This is a request a assume many people would like and it seems to be very easy to implement.

When take part in a running event, we always start walking with the crowd and start running once we cross the start line. Currently all we can do is to set autopause for speeds of 5km/h or less. Sometimes, while still walking, we reach 5km/h. It would be great if we could increase that limit to 6 or 7km/h and eliminate this problem.

Thank you and its a shame Nokia so loudly said they will abandom Symbian. You guys from SportsTracker are the reason I have had Symbian phones and currently own a N8.

    1. Wees

It would be great if user could set autopause speed to settings.

  26. Steve Homer

I used to have an Iphone with Endomondo but it could never keep track of the footpaths and bridleways that I cycle on. Also the battery life just died after 4 hours with the GPS on so I couldn’t risk being out without a phone.

I NOW have sports tracker running on a nokia N8. – Great combination – super accurate GPS, the auto pause is great and there is enough battery to ride all day. – Nice job guys – a great reason to own a Nokia !!

  27. trevor coker

sports tracker the one reson left to own a nokia .oh was that no resons to own a nokia . why not just get a iphone with there app ? probley beter anyway . this website sold out and now will be sqased by the super phone lol where sports traker will become app 3654765456764 on the list chow sports tracker it was a good idea why it lasted

  28. rowerowy blas

Would be cool if you Sports Tracker Team add a nice feature to allow to send a GPX/KML file to any URL(REST other API method)
It’s almost there, you already allow to send an email just from app.
I will even pay for a premium version of Sports Tracker with customizable Upload action.

    1. jose

      It will be fantastic!

  29. Karl Johan Olsson

Can I hope there will be a Android-version of Sports Tracker in the future?
    I don´t like Endomondo.
    Sports Tracker is much better.

  30. Jon Pritchard

Thanks for not dropping Symbian. I was hoping you’d port to MeeGo/Maemo but since that’s dead-in-the-water, I applaud that you’re looking to increase your supported platforms, as Sports Tracker is the best application for this sort of things.

    1. Mark Sharkie Richards

I agree with keeping symbian going,I like symbian, was looking to buy Nokia N9,but now think I will get N8.Sports Tracker is the best sports app. Well done Sports tracker team.

  31. Adam

I emailed asking if the new platforms will support the current bluetooth belts but as this was their reply I think I’ll hold off getting a belt until then:

    Hi Adam!

Thank you for contacting us. We will announce supported devices with our official statement when we release support to new platforms.

    Best Regards
    Timo

    How about live workout !!!
Where is it like the old way in a nokia website ?

  34. Paul

Will you be targeting Windows Phone 7 ?

I think that porting to iOS and Android would be cool, but, you will compete with many other sports apps. Both markets are saturated so you would need to provide better: support, functionallity, etc. WP7 still has some room to grow.

    Best of Luck

    1. Tobias

its right that there are other trakers for android or ios. but if more platforms will be supported there are 2 positive points.
      1. you can win more ppl
      2. you dont loose ppl when someone is changing the phone/os

i changed from symbian to android and hope that sportstracker will support it soon. if not i have to choose another one.

  35. joaquin ts

I’ll like an iphone app for the sports tracker and a light version for the browser

    Keep up the good work

    1. rowerowy blas

Where you have light version for the browser?
I don’t like this heavy flash version, I use it hardly ever. Just to reply to some comments on my workouts from time to time.

  43. Ganza

Great news about the ‘other platform support’. Now my decision to give android a go is certain.

  44. Skogmand

After 4 month whit a fancy Desire, I switch back to my 5800XM – much because of the function in Nokia GPS their navigation – and to day I received Polar Bluetooth Belt. And very glad abut several “stored” parameter, automatic at my phone. And the “new” Sports Tracker site look pretty nice. Just a gloomy that I can’t se – me and my friends Workouts – from the web-site browsing from my Symbia S60v5.
So a project for Sports Tracker : make a alternative to the Flash-site (witch which not requires Flash 10.)
OK, I have a Android v2.2 (Flash 10.1) But the the whole idea is away ! !

    1. Dittoman

Android 3.0 will most likely have very nice capabilities for running flash. Basically Apple and iOS is the only platform that isn’t on board with this…which is kinda of sad since anything similar that has been done in flash produced with html5 works even worse and will do so for years to come.

iPhone or iPad do not have the processing power to run advanced html5 and the html5 is years away from being any sort of an standard. Hell, not even your average desktop computer doesn’t handle it so well without a specific browser. The whole flash vs html5 “war” is just a gimmick to sell more apps.

      1. Skogmand

As I try to say (English Is not my mother tongue) my Android with v2.2 (Froyo) have the capability to full Flash (10.1). But I’m leaving Android, find my old Nokia S60v5 more comfortable and relax to use. Don’t like the headmaster of apple-garden telling me what to do and not to do, and I not pleased with Google monitoring and collecting what, where and how I am doing constant.
So therefore it will handy if the Web-master of Sports Tracker would add s readable version, which not requires a browser with full Flash.

I’m absolutely not any professor to Flash-technique, but Flash-built web-sites and streaming Flash content, requires more data-traffic (witch I have to pay) and it needs more CPU power from my devices (witch I also have to pay for).

regards to the web-master of Sports Tracker.

  45. Tobias

this is great. thx. this will go into my decision for a new mobile.
