As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve moved to the brand new (yes, flash free) Sports Tracker website. We’ve received a lot of feedback on it and we’ve been working hard to get your suggestions implemented. Thanks for all the feedback so far!
As it’s brand new, here are some tips on how to make the most of it.
Track your progress
Keep track of your workouts and see how you’re keeping up with your goals. You can easily view weekly, monthly, yearly or selected date summaries. You can also choose to see activity types separately or all together.
Analyse your performance
Dig deeper into your workouts and see how you did in each step of your workout.
Expand your network by searching for new Sports Tracker friends
Sports tracker community has millions of passionate users that want to share their inspiration with you. Finding fellow trackers on our site is very easy, so go ahead and add more friends to encourage and cheer each other! On top of that, a healthy amount of peer pressure and friendly competition will get you moving.
Tip: You can search for other Sports Tracker users on the upper right hand side of the site (magnifying glass). Additionally you can search for your existing friends in the friend tab.
Get inspired by finding new routes and places to visit
If you feel like you’re always taking the same running path, have a look at your friends workouts and photos to find new tracks to follow.
Tip: the default landing page in Dashboard is now the one you viewed the last, so either your own workouts or your friends.
Or why not check out where other Sports Tracker users in your area are working out. You’ll be amazed on the amount of hidden gems around your neighbourhood.
GPX import/export
The gpx feature has been improved a lot from the previous site. You can now import multiple workouts (up to 10 at time), use drag and drop, see the map and route while filling the workout details and you can apply same settings to all imported gpx files if you like (activity, sharing, description). The gpx import can be found on the right hand side of the dashboard. The export is easily found when you open a workout.
We’re also considering other formats than gpx, so do let us know which ones you’d like us to add.
Next up we’ll be working on the following (amongst others):
- Sharing
- Add workouts manually
- Settings fixed
- Delete photos
- Improvements to maps and analysis tools
Happy tracking!

It’s really sad to loose the old website with the cool features like the comparison of all the workouts like average speed, workout-time and so on. The new website doesn’t have any of this.
Why did you change something that really worked into something that looks like it’s only half finished ?
The new site sucks, I would even pay to get the old one back …
Kresimir
My favorite is old website design. This new design is kind of Metro-look-Windows 8 inspired style which I hate.
Will you keep old site at legacy.sports-tracker.com?
If it’s not a problem, instead of Google maps could you implement MapQuest’s satellite view at legacy.sports-tracker.com?
Nick
Switched to Garmin for all my tracking needs.
I appreciate that Garmin does not officially support WP but I was willing to accept that as I now have a top of the range cycle computer with cadence, speed sensor and heart rate monitor. GPS/mapping is good, virtual parter, custom courses bases on distance I want to ride is a super feature too, segment training is cool and the Garmin Connect site is excellent too.
Got a few months left on my phone contract and if they don’t make a WP app in that time, I’ll be switching to Android. Fed up of having to settle for app scraps. I love WP and the 1020 is still the best camera phone by some distance but it needs better third party support.
Thanks for everything Sports Tracker. Used to love using your app on Symbian but it is extremely poor on WP. Wish you all the best for the future :)
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Nick, sorry to see you go. Maybe one day you’ll give our Android app a chance:). Happy tracking anyways!

The old website was better beceause there were a lot of charts and the workout statistics was clearer. For every week there was graphic information about how many kilometers i ran, and i could compare my results. What’s more for every workout now there is a line graph showing my speed. Before there was also a bar charts showin the avaerage speed (0,5 km, 1 km, 2 km…..)which was clearer for me.

The new site being flash-free is an improvement, of course. But from the end-user perspective, the look and feel has gotten worse and many nice features have been dropped.
The dark background of the old site looks better and it works better when visualizing the result. The layout of the Dashboard on the old site is compact and gives an easy access for old exercises and gives a nice weekly and last 30 days summary at the same time. The old Diary is well thought and usable, nice features such as selecting items and getting summary out of those, new one is not really an improvement to the older unfortunately.
What really rocks on the old site is the analysis of the exercise (Workout overview/Data view), the new version is actually bad to be honest, laps-functionality is almost unusable and very uninformative compared to the older, no way to toggle full-screen on the graphs etc. etc. etc. Also nice feature was “Difference to best workout”, it automagically compared the workout to similar earlier workouts.
Really sad to see that the new implementation is worse than the original, gives an ugly look and feel where the old site still appears modern and timeless and makes one want to use the site. I have been using ST for many years and even after changing from using phone to track my exercises to wrist-devices, I still import my data to ST. As long as the old site works.
You should just have re-implemented the site as it was, made improvements where needed and left what was tried and tested as it was.

Exactly, I totally agree. There were many well thought and useful features.
Braking the old site (maps etc.) and “forcing” users to use a beta site is not nice either. The transition should be done when the service renovation is production-ready.
ST has been one of the finest services around and the old site works like a charm (or it still would if it weren’t broken). The new site should be implemented up to the level of quality in appearance and usability set by the old site.
Tomas
Hello,
thanks for the flash free site. ;o)
Still features to re-add and bugs to fix, but the direction is surely the right one.
Export doesn’t work for me with the new website. ;o( The gpx files exported through old site and new site differ in size. Only the old site export would be read into RunKeeper, the new one would not be recognized as valid file. Could you have a look into this issue?
Adding photos would be a nice feature to re-add.
Thanks
Tomas

OMG, what did you do with this site? I don’t like new look of sports-tracker. I’m sorry but is horrible and simple. I was using endomondo before i found this site and was very surprised how this site looked like. There are not so much activities as on endomondo but i was using it despite this handicap. Is it possible to switch to old design? I thing you should focus on more activities, statistics and maybe small things but design was the last thing that should be updated. Is it possible to add new workout without uploading GPX file?
Karin
Hi! Congratulations to your new site. I’m using Sports-Tracker evan for my hiking trips. I used to embed the workout into my hiking blog. But since you started with your new site, I’m missing the possability to embed my workout using a html code.
Will this very useful feature return?
Thanks & greets Karin
Antti
Larger/full screen map needed, please!
Robert
If I post it on facebook throught the old site, then the link on facebook is there, but the link itself doesnt work. Will it be fixed?
Robert
Hay,
Facebook upload from cell phone seems to be down again. At least with me. Will it be running again soon?
This is very important issue for most of users. Please make it your priority to fix it (so we wont have to turn on other apps)
Georg
Hi,
Congratulations for launching the new site. In the total map Overview I see only the workouts done this year. The ones from 2012/2013 are missing. Will they be updated in future?
Svein
To George:
I add not tracked workouts in two steps:
1. Start-stop-end and save a one second long workout on the phone
2. Go to the website and open, edit and save the edited workout (date, time, distance and duration)
Svein
Sorry, my comment above should have been addressed to Dennis below
Dennis
Hi,
I have been using sports tracker for many years. One particular feature that seems to have disappeared is the manual entry of workouts that are not tracked by device.
Has that feature been deprecated completely?
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Dennis, no that will be added as soon as possible (hopefully really soon).
Dennis
Hi Katja,
Thanks for the feedback. Another design feature that was dropped…
In the new design under Diary -> Calendar View:
It would be great to have the 3 or 4 month strip like we had in the older version, this makes it possible to have an overview of the per day workout distribution in the recent 3/4 months. If possible, be able to pan through the months.
In anycase, the current design has available space to the right of the shown month to possibly accomodate more months :)
Dennis
Thanks for the “Add New” feature.
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Thanks Dennis! Glad to hear you spotted it already. Happy tracking!
Svein
Sorry, my reply above to George on manual entry of workouts, was meant for Dennis
Dennis
Hi Svein,
Thanks for the information, sounds like a workaround though :)
Sam
Are the name of the workouts missing/deleted? I can’t see them appear on the new website.
Hans Biber
In the old version I had the opportunity to see similar workouts compared to the workout currently selected. Will this feature return in near future ? This was a very userfull feature I don’t want to miss it. By the way, I would by the premium but the price is much too high.
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Hans, at the moment it’s not in the top priority list unfortunately. We’ll have to wait and see if we can add them later on.
Peter Nicholson
Hello,
I cannot view the new sports tracker website at http://www.sports-tracker.com with either WIN7 or WINXP.
I just get a fuzzy view of mountains with orange option text listed down the left side of the page.
If I access old.sports-tracker.com then I get the old website but its’s missing new uploaded pictures and the maps.
Thanks,
Pete
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Pete, sorry to hear about the issue. Are you using IE? If yes, which version? Have you tried any other browsers?
AlexB
i have same problem (firefox, chrome, iron):
– at home it’s old version of website
– at office it’s new version of website
Maybe, caused by dns migration. or not?…
Bernhard
In general I can say yoou make a good job – but…
I have the same problem as Peter Nicholson.
I am using Sports Tracker for 2 years now, but I can not enter the new website – either with IE nor Firefox… fast help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Alun
Hi Bernhard,
I have a similar issue at work:
Logon to the new website fails on my desktop running IE9;
Logon to the new website works on another desktop running IE11.
It seems to suggest a compatability issue affecting IE9.
AlexB
About privacy :: There are three statuses about privacy/sharing workouts: Private, Friends, Public.
In the old version, I could uncheck “Private”; in this case the workout does not appear in the dashboard of my friends, but the link was accesible those who I gave the link (sort of “hidden workout”).
In the new version, if I choose “Public” or “Friends” then the workout appears in the dashboard of my friends.
I like “hidden workout” (private workout, but accesible for those who knows the url).
Can you fix this?
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi, thanks for the feedback. Our users were worried about their privacy so we have it in this way now. But we’re looking into perhaps adding a fourth option of “accessible with link” or something like that.
AlexB
yeah, sounds good for me. like youtube videos: “private”, “hidden”, “friends”, “public”. :)
AlexB
“unlisted”, not “hidden”. sorry
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Great, let’s hope we can implement it in the near future.
Diego
That would be great, visible workouts for people you share your workout\profile link with, but not listed in explore\dashboard
Pavel
Hi, plenty of work ahead! Old site is unfortunately better so far. For me the EMBEDDING function is the most missing. And Facebook sharing with map. And definitely there must be MY WORKOUTS the main page. Please do that quickly or do we have to wait for eternity? Or choose another tracker?
Thanks, Pavel
Ewelinka
exactly
johnieegg
Staré stránky byly lepší, přehlednější. Na svém profilu má být první moje aktivita a potom kamarádů a né opačně. Chybí možnost zvětšit mapu přes celou stránku.
The old site was better, clearer. On your profile will be the first activity and then my friends and not vice versa. No option to enlarge the map across the page.
Frank
Great job, i love the new website! I see lots of improvements, i realy enjoy that.
But for me there is one thing that is missing: Can you please implement Garmin Communicator-Plug-In Support to import the workouts directly from my garmin gps watch?
Lambo Lan
I am PRC, China mainland, the old website used the Google Map service which blocked by China government but now I can read it, is it still the Google Map? I am quite sure it’s not from Bing Map…
Lighten me!
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Lambo Lan, the maps we are now using are OpenStreetMaps (we’ll add the credits asap). Glad to hear they work for you. Happy tracking!
Robert
Daer Katja,
Will there also be satelite map available? (and not only this kind of map?)
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Robert, at the moment we use OpenStreetMaps but let’s see what can be done going forward.
Nemo
Hah, I noticed the maps were suddenly prettier and then saw in a corner that they’re from OpenStreetMap, great!
Note, the recommended attribution is “© OpenStreetMap contributors” with a link to http://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright ; if you don’t link that page, you should mention (and link) the ODbL license.
Dmitry
Hi Sports Tracker team! Nice website. Could you add a feature for uploading photos to the site?
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Dmitry, thanks for the nice feedback, glad you like the new site. We’ll try to add the photo upload as soon as possible. Sorry for the delay!
Joe
Hey, the new site is very nice (hate flash) but took me a while to see it!
With www I see the new site, without it’s the old flash one. Don’t know if you needed the old site up without www for legacy apps; but should be mentioned here.
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi Joe, thanks for the feedback. We definitely need to fix the redirect issue. Glad you like the new site!
Gerald Langmann
The import workout doesn’t work. It imports just the first round or seconds of a workout.
I can send you a Garmin gpx-file, if you want.
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
HI Gerald, thanks for the feedback! Please send it, would be really helpful: http://support.sports-tracker.com/customer/portal/emails/new Thanks!
Jawwa
Hello ST!
Сan you add “PACE” and “HR” to information in the tab “LAPS”?
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi, thanks for the feedback! Hopefully we can add them soon, I’ve added them to the wish list.
biboka
i’d love to see “embed workout” function back, otherwise, it’s nice to see this new website instead of that flash-thing
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi biboka, that will added soon. Happy tracking!
carlos costa
if you add the cadence editor option it would be great
Katja/ team Sports Tracker
Hi carlos, thanks for the feedback, that’s on the to do list:).
Bruce
Please fix your links whether viewed via mobile or desktop to show up in Imperial if that’s the user’s setting. It always shows up in Metric if viewed from mobile and also in Metric via the desktop if I’m not logged into Sport Tracker. Tough for my friends to comprehend my workouts here in the US.
Sven
Good job! And Sports-Tracker Santa please bring a windsurf activity icon!
Patryk
Please provide support for Garmin devices and you will get plenty of new users. I believe you are losing competition against endemondo and strava because of that.
Patryk
matt larkin
All good, but the new export is in a non-standard format without line feeds at the end of each clause – the old format was correct, so please reinstate that export function. Thanks!
ton engelsma
I’m a happy user of sporttracker. In the old site I could see the AVG of all my workouts. Up till now I didn’t find this information on the new site.
with regards,
Ton Engelsma
Jessica
Automatic import for Garmins would be nice. At the very least, support for .fit files. I’m getting over Strava; and SportsTracker used to be awesome back in the day…
