Right. So 2018 is the year you’ve decided to get off the couch and start leading an active lifestyle. Well, if you want to have any kind of success there are a few guidelines that will help as well as some ways to use the Sports Tracker app to keep you motivated.
#1 Have Fun!
This sounds like a no brainer but you’d be surprised at how many people make plans to be more active by forcing themselves to do something they don’t enjoy. If you don’t enjoy running or going to the gym then by all means, don’t do them. Instead try ping pong, disc golf, yoga or stand-up paddling. As long as you’re moving, it counts and as long as you enjoy doing it, you’ll be motivated to do more. The Sports Tracker app features dozens of activities that can be tracked from bowling to badminton to basketball to boxing. And that’s just a few of the B’s!
#2 Start With Reasonable Goals
Another big mistake is to trying to conquer the world on your first day out. And while you might have been the high school swimming champion don’t plan on going out and beating your old records on the first day. You’ll only be disappointed and kill your motivation for another day out. Instead start out slow and easy and record your effort with the Sports Tracker app. After a few times out, you’ll find that on your next effort it’s practically impossible not to want to go a little bit longer, or just a hair faster, or burn a few calories more. These small wins feel awesome and will motivate you to stick with your schedule and look forward to your next effort.
#3 The Importance Of Recovery
One of the most important aspects of getting stronger is letting your body properly recover before heading out again. Based on the information in your profile and the type of activity you’ve chosen, Sports Tracker will make a recommendation on recovery time after each of your sessions. It’s like having your own personal trainer!
#4 Sharing Is Caring
Another great way to stay motivated is by letting others join in on the fun. With Sports Tracker you can not only share your latest effort straight from the app to your social media pages, you can also share it with the Sports Tracker community of like-minded individuals. Following others in the community is a great way to learn of great new places in your area to practice your activity as well as show your support of others by giving them a Like.
#5 Dear Diary
Finally, the Sports Tracker diary keeps a log of all your efforts. Check your progress by going to the Dashboard on the desktop app to get a summary of your last 30 days including number of sessions, total hours, total calories burned and how all of that compares to the previous month.
To get started, simply download the app for Android or iPhone, create a login and fill in the details on your personal profile. And remember rule #1 – have fun!

The best thing about “Sports tracker” is that it keeps being hooked up to the GPS sateliter. Unlike my previos app. (Endomondo)which lost track all the time.
